BiQ: Recap for Week Ending February 28, 2025 (Free)

Welcome to the BiQ Weekly Recap #6!

I want to welcome the new Biotech iQ members who joined this past week--thank you for joining the BiQ Community. I've been a biotech investor for over two decades, but BiQ is a new service, and I'm humbled and grateful for its warm reception from the biotech community.

While I do publish several articles and updates each week, please remember that Biotech iQ is much more than a newsletter service. BiQ's most valuable tools are found on the Biotech iQ website (www.biotechiq.com). These include:

• The Active Coverage List displays a list of all companies currently included in Active Coverage together with their outlook and ratings. These are updated at least once a week.

It was a negative week for the XBI. The index opened Monday trading at 91.45 and closed Friday at 88.77, hitting an intraweek high of 91.63 and low of 86.22 during the week.

• I have slightly changed the format of the Coverage List to show my original share basis (BiQ OSB) separately from my adjusted cost basis (BiQ ACB). Previously, I only displayed my adjusted cost basis. The difference between the two will be shown in the CB ADJ column. This difference arises from various options strategies I use to bring down my cost basis over time--mostly by selling puts or calls which I don't plan to have exercised. If any of these options are exercised, this would be reflected in the BiQ OSB column.

• Precigen (PRGN) announced FDA acceptance with Priority Review for their BLA for PRGN-2012. Premium members can read the announcement article by clicking here.
• Iovance (IOVA) announced Q4 earnings. While shares sold off, I considered the earnings to be in-line with guidance and generally positive. Premium members can read the BiQ Q4 earnings analysis article by clicking here.
